About Us
WHO ARE WE?

St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church is a community of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America. We are composed of both converts to the faith and "cradle" Orthodox of various backgrounds. Visitors are always welcome at St. Michael's. Many of us started our journey as "visitors." Come and experience the unchanged, ancient Christian faith in the Orthodox Church! Come and see!

The Orthodox Church has existed continuously in the Middle East and Greece from the time of the Apostles, and is the faith of the majority of Christians in Greece, Russia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Serbia. With the exception of Rome, the local churches mentioned in the New Testament, which have existed continuously until today, such as Corinth, Thessalonica, Antioch, etc., are Orthodox churches. The Orthodox Christian mission to America began in 1794 with the efforts of St. Herman and other Russian monks in Alaska. The Orthodox Church has been in America since that time.

St. Michael the Archangel Orthodox Church was established as a parish of the Serbian Orthodox Church in North and South America in 2002. We moved to our present location in 2006. Our members are both "cradle" Orthodox of Russian, Romanian, Greek, Arab, and Serbian descent, and converts from other faiths. Our bishop is His Grace Bishop Longin of New Gracanica and Midwestern America, and our priest is Father Gregory Schultz.

As a parish of the Serbian Orthodox Church, we are in full communion with the Greek Orthodox, Russian Orthodox, and other Orthodox churches throughout the world.
